As artificial intelligence continues to grow in its power and applications, we are harnessing its power to improve healthcare, making it fair and safe for all.

Many people noticed health disparities during the COVID-19 pandemic, but these differences have existed in medicine for a long time and are deeply ingrained.

The applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare and health research are vast, but it is crucial that these technologies do not continue the history of bias and inequity present in healthcare. As pressures on healthcare systems and innovation in AI means these technologies are increasingly seen as crucial elements of adaptable and successful healthcare systems, it is incredibly important we ensure that they are not doing more harm than good due to biases in data and algorithms.

In this theme, we are working with international collaborators on improving AI technologies, assessing their biases and producing representative data, all with the aim of using AI to improve healthcare for all.
