On Monday 24 June, the Botnar Research Centre hosted a joint symposium for Taught MSc students from NDORMS and the University of Toronto, which was run via webinar. This symposium aimed to enhance and broaden student experiences from their respective taught courses, and to provide a platform for students to enhance their career opportunities by connecting them with faculty from both institutes.
The symposium brought together early stage clinicians and basic scientists, fostering collaborative international working within the musculoskeletal sciences. Students from both institutes worked as teams to present their deliberations which spanned studies of musculoskeletal disease mechanism, therapeutic discovery and implementation of new treatment strategies.
Organiser and Course Director Associate Professor Stephanie Dakin would like to thank all the students and staff who contributed to making the symposium a successful event. Congratulations to Taught MSc students Dr Omar Musbahi, Dr Andrew Davies, Dr Thomas Lloyd and Dr Murtaza Kadhum for their prize winning presentations (pictured).
