The RAMBOH-1 study is an experimental medicine study testing whether a type of drug called a Retinoic Acid Metabolism Blocking Agent (RAMBA) can increase retinoic acid levels and reduce inflammation in the base of the thumb joint of people with hand osteoarthritis.
We are happy to announce that the study has now opened its first site to recruitment at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, part of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Only patients scheduled for base of thumb surgery (trapeziectomy) will be eligible to join the study.
