Student Committee
The NDORMS student committee is a student-run initiative bringing together the graduate student community within NDORMS. We aim to provide social activities and peer support for students at any stage. We further aim to provide a platform for students to present their work and broaden their academic horizons.
Events
We organise several academic and social events throughout the year, including:
- Welcome events for 1st year students at the start of the academic year
- Yearly DPhil retreat with various career workshops and group activities
- Regular social events including a termly student brunch and pizza lunch, monthly NDORMS socials (jointly organised with the PostDoc committee every first Thursday of the month), monthly Pub outings at the Butcher's Arms (second Thursday of every month), the annual NDORMS Christmas party and termly inter-departmental socials with different institutes across the Medical Sciences Division
- Any ideas for events? Contact us!
Peer Support
The student committee also provides peer support. A number of students have undergone training to act as Peer Supporters and provide a listening ear for those with welfare concerns.

Contact
The final role of the student committee is to provide a support network for students and to make sure that students' views are well represented in the various departmental committees. The student committee further aims to provide a place for all students to voice any concerns in an informal environment and fully confidential manner.
If you there is anything you would like to discuss with us please reach out to us individually or contact us on studentcommittee@ndorms.ox.ac.uk
