Cubital Tunnel Syndrome (CuTS) is the second most common peripheral nerve compression neuropathy. Currently no consensus exists on the optimum method of surgical treatment. The UNDER Study seeks to compare Endoscopic Decompression with Open Decompression Surgeries for the treatment of CuTS.

This study will consist of two phases. The first (Cohort phase) to assess the training of experienced decompression surgeons in the endoscopic technique and how well patients recover post-surgery.  The second phase will be a randomised control trial (RCT) where the two techniques will be compared. The study will recruit a total of 334 participants for the RCT phase.

We are delighted to say that the study team have now opened the first recruiting site, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
