We're pledging for parity for this year's International Women's Day, joining millions around the world in celebrating the achievements of women.

Worldwide, progress towards gender parity has slowed, with the World Economic Forum predicting the gender gap wouldn't close entirely until 2133 - that's 117 years... and 9 months!

This year's International Women's Day is all about committing to accelerate gender parity and taking concrete steps to help achieve it more quickly.

IWD 2016 - Epi Group

At NDORMS, we're joining individuals around the world "pledging to move from talk to purposeful action so we can collectively help women advance equal to their numbers and realise the limitless potential they offer economies the world over".

Join our staff and students as they pledge to accelerate gender parity; we'll be sharing their pledges in images throughout the day.

IWD 2016 - Claudia and Jenny

NDORMS is committed to advancing equality and excellence in employment and education practices and has received an Athena SWAN Silver Award in recognition of its commitment.

IWD 2016 - Sam and Wulf and Jonathan

Our Athena SWAN application encouraged self-reflection, gave us the opportunity to celebrate current successes, and provided a framework for introducing organisational and cultural changes that truly provide the open, supportive and family-friendly research environment we aim to have.

IWD 2016 - Nikki and Jim

The Athena SWAN Self Assessment Team continually looks at opportunities to improve current processes and procedures regarding equality and diversity within NDORMS and aims to deliver different measures and actions to make NDORMS a truly welcoming and supportive environment for all staff and students.
